The Third BOSCO KIDS Convention was held at St Charles’ High School Auditorium, Lingarajapuram (Bangalore) on February 07, 2010. More than 1000 Bosco Kids and their animators from 64 schools in Karnataka participated in the day long programme. Rev Fr Thomas Anchukandam SDB (Provincial) presided over the inaugural function. Rev Fr Gilbert Choondal SDB enlightened the participants on the theme of the event, Bosco Kids are Social Reformers. It was indeed thrilling to see 1000 children renew their pledge as Bosco Kids. 50 Bosco Kids from Sacred Heart School were specially felicitated for winning the first prize for their display during the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi. In the afternoon, the various participating schools performed cultural programmes. The neighbourhood collaborated by helping in the organization of the event as well as in meeting major part of the expenses. Fr Jude Anand, the chief organizer, was assisted by Salesian students of theology. The movement now has more than 7000 members in Karnataka. BOSCO is used as an acronym for Brave, Outstanding, Sociable, Courageous, Obedient.
