History
|
Don Bosco Cultural Centre, Vennala, was established in 1983 by Rev. Father Philip Thayil, through the generous financial collaboration of Reverend Father Francis Guezou, for the purpose of training poor but talented boys in music, dance and the performing arts in the service of the Gospel. An advanced Printing Press too was begun at the same time for the purpose of training boys in printing technology and the publication of good books. The aspect of training was discontinued for some time, but was revived in 1995 under the new name of DBIGACT (Don Bosco Institute of Graphic Arts Communication Technology). Later, a library, open to the public, was added. A small Youth Centre also has been revived, with about 30 members in regular attendance

Scope
|
· The promotion of culture in the form of art, music, dance, folklore, and the rich traditions that characterizes the Kerala society.
· Providing adequate facilities and equipments
· Identifying and training talented children from the remote areas of Kerala recruited through camps and vacation programmes.
· Production and publication of books, pictures and leaflets based on scripture, the gospel values and the spirituality of Don Bosco.
· Offering qualitative printing services to promote evangelisation and catechesis
· Devout and meaningful celebration of liturgical services in the quasi parish entrusted to the Salesian community
· Animation of Youth
· Publication of the Malayalam Salesian Bulletin and the News bulletin of the Province
