History
|
Begun in 1984 as a Youth Centre, DBIT developed into an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in 1987. Later, in 1996, the Computer and Management Studies were started. The Study Centre for Computer and Management Studies is affiliated to the University of Madras, and offers 3-year courses in BBA, BCA and MCA.

Scope
|
§ To work for the intellectual, spiritual, cultural, social and physical formation of youth through technical training, vocational education, and computer courses using Don Bosco’s Preventive System of Education
§ To help the young to draw up a project of life and to guide individuals to master academic, technical and vocational skills to help him/her earn a living.
§ To inculcate in the youth gospel and cultural values and help them to be useful and responsible toward themselves, their families and their country
§ Animation of youth and co-ordination of creative and qualitative programmes spaced out through the year
§ Promotion of employment opportunities and self-employment schemes
§ Guidance and counselling Pastoral animation of the parishioners of the quasi parish
