History
Begun in 1981 on 10 acres of diocesan land donated by Bishop Jerome Fernandez, the then Local Ordinary of Kollam, the Salesian work started as a non-formal Technical Training Centre for school dropouts of the coastal parishes, especially those of Thope and Kumbalam. Salesians began to reside in the premises in 1984. From 1987 to 1998 the house also served as an aspirantate to the Brotherhood. In the same year 1998 COMIDE approved a project to build a full-fledged Technical School with 3 trades viz., Electronics, Electricals and Computers, in addition to the Carpentry and Driving School already functioning. The community also looks after the pastoral requirements of 40 Catholic families belonging to Kottiyam parish. A youth centre with about 60 boys is quite active and prepares the youth to face the challenges of life.

  •         To animate the youth and to co-ordinate creative and qualitative programmes spaced out throughout the year

  •         To provide guidance and counselling
  •       To take care of the pastoral requirements of the quasi parish entrusted to them and to render pastoral assistance in the neighbouring parishes, substations and religious communities
