History

At the invitation of the Bishop of Chickmagalur, Rt Rev. John Baptist Sequeira, in June 1990, authenticated by the lease of 1.7 acres of land adjacent to the parish Church of Hassan for a period of 99 years, the province began construction of the Don Bosco Technical Institute. On 31st May 1994 the first Salesian community took up residence in the new building.

§ To work for the spiritual, cultural, social and physical formation of youth through technical training using Don Bosco’s preventive system of Education
§ To inculcate in the youth gospel values and thus to help them to be useful and responsible toward themselves, their families and their country. To promote more self-employment opportunities to help the youth to earn a livelihood
