The Salesian Province of Bangalore rejoices at the birth of a new doctor in Social Work. Fr Jose Thomas Koyickal successfully defended his Ph.D thesis titled, A Study on Psychosocial Correlates of Wellbeing among Adolescents in Institutional and Parental Care in Kochi. The research was supervised by Dr A. Umesh Samuel at P.G. and Research Department of Social Work, Bishop Herber College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. The external examiner was Dr F.X. Lovelina Little Flower (Reader in Social Work, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore). The Public Viva-Voce Examination held at 10.30 a.m. on December 23, 2009 at the Seminar Hall of Bishop Herber College was attended by more than 100 people, including Rev Fr Susai Amalraj (Salesian Provincial of Trichy), other Salesians, parents and relatives of the research scholar, and faculty members, scholars, and students. The examiners have rated the research highly meritorious.
