It was a glorious day for KJC. 26 brothers, including 16 Salesians from various provinces of India, received their diaconate on 19th March 2017. Along with the Salesians there were also Passionists, Piarists and Sacred Heart brothers for the same. There were three from Bangalore province: Brs. Kalapurackal Shino, Kannen Cinto and Dandavati Joseph. The ceremony was conducted in the KJC Chapel. Most Rev. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore, presided over the function. The Holy Eucharist began at 7.00 am with the entrance procession. More than 100 priests and 500 guests took part in the ceremony. Rev. Fr. Mathew Thonikuzhiyil, the provincial of Bangalore province, Rev. Fr. Antony Joseph, the provincial of Trichy, Rev. Fr. Godffrey D’Souza, the provincial of Mumbai, Rev. Fr. Thatti Reddy, the provincial of Hyderabad, along with rectors, superiors and delegates from other congregations were present to encourage and congratulate the newly ordained. Archbishop in his homily stressed on the need to become authentic disciples and holy men so as to be true witnesses of Christ. The ceremony was well organized and the choir was heavenly. After the Eucharist, all gathered also partook in the fellowship meal. Congratulations to our new deacons and best wishes as they approach their ordination.
