To make this year’s Onam celebration meaningful to themselves as well as to the people around Don Bosco Youth Centre, Aluva organized “Bosco Onam Fest 2017” in the premises of Don Bosco College, Aluva. This grand event had two parts. The first part witnessed the inauguration of the event by Sri. Anvar Sadath, the local MLA, Rev. Fr. Francis Vattukulam, the Rector, Sr. Molly, the superior of Archana Convent, Rev. Fr. Tony Cheriyan, the director of Don Bosco Youth Centre and Mr. John Varghese, the president of the youth centre. Onam is a festival of sharing; therefore right at the outset ‘Onam Kit’ comprising of some grocery items and vegetables was distributed to about 30 families so that they could also have the joy of celebrating Onam in a fitting manner. There was also Kochumaran and Kochumanga fashion contest for the children of the locality. There were about 25 contestants for the same. It was indeed a feast to the eye and a delight to the heart to see the small kids dressed up in the traditional attire of Kerala. The winners were awarded with attractive prizes.

The second part of the celebration consisted of the “Mega Show” (Singing and Dancing). With the light and sound effect the performers sent the audience into rapture. Thus the members of the youth centre through their cooperation and hard work made the Onam celebration a memorable one for the people as well as for themselves.
