Two hundred children from the neighbouring villages around Don Bosco, Keezhmadu (Aluva) were warmly welcomed into the premises of Don Bosco Philosophical College as the brothers organized the Annual Oratory Day for the beneficiaries of their weekly ministry. The children who frequent the Sunday gatherings organized by the students of philosophy together with the junior youth centre members participated in this annual feature which aims at integral formation of the young leading them to become honest citizens. The program kicked off with the inaugural function in which the welcome address by Fr. VG Mathew was followed by the lighting of the Olympic torch by Fr. Previnth (Principal). Sports events followed. A grand tea was sandwiched between the Sports events and the cultural extravaganza which drew the curtain for the day. The cultural program began with a message by Fr. Rector. Singing and dance followed. The prize distribution which allowed the children to carry home sweet memories of the day signalled the end of the program. The prizes were distributed by Fr. Ittira, the Vice-Rector. This is a part of Don Bosco’s educative program for children and youth making them better human persons.
