The Diocese of Calicut organized YUVASAAGARAM, an animation programme for youth, on Nov 22, 2009 in Calicut. The programmes began on a spiritual note with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Bishop Joseph Kalathiparambil. In his homily he spoke on the social and spiritual upliftment of the youngsters today. The brotherly agape manifested the communion and strength of the “young” Church. The faith proclamation rally showed a perfect blending of culture and tradition, along with the splurge of youthful vigour. Salsesians were fully involved in the rally as they organized the parishioners of St. Anthony’s Church, Rippon. The concluding meeting was held at St. Joseph’s church. The talks given by the dignitarties underscored the seminal place of religion in the life of youngsters. The various cultural programmes displayed the indigenous dance forms as well as the danger of utilitarianism. Don Bosco, Padivayal also received a loud ovation for the instrumental music which the novices put up. Replete with high promises for future, the programme was surely a showcase of the vibrant Catholic faith.
