A rejuvenated football team of Don Bosco Youth Centre (Keezhmadu, Aluva), which has regained its membership in the Kerala Football Association, won the coveted Ever Rolling Don Bosco Trophy in the Annual Football tournament organised by DBYC, Aluva. Eight prominent teams from different parts of Kerala took part in the event held from 18th to 25th April, 2010. Mr. AM Yousuf MLA was the guest of honour at the inaugural function. The trophies were given away by Mr. MO John (Former Municipal Chairman, Aluva). Mr. Nigil (President, Keezhmad Youth Congress) was also present for the concluding ceremony. Periyar Rice, BASE (Perumbavoor), Koothari Caps (Vyttila), MASS (Aluva), Ashramam Sevens (Ernakulam), and Don Bosco (Vaduthala) were the prominent teams that participated in the tournament. Hundreds of football lovers flocked to Don Bosco Grounds in spite of adverse weather conditions to witness this show of skill and sportsman spirit.


Don Bosco Youth Centre (Aluva) had its summer programmes kicked off with a music camp which offered training in musical instruments for those already attending the music classes at the youth centre. 15 boys benefited from the camp which gave opportunities for them to brush up their basics in keyboard and guitar. The summer camp NIRAVU 2010 was true to its name with activities and programmes full of cheer and happiness. It was inaugurated by Fr. Rector and reached its climax with the much acclaimed picnic to Veega Land. The sixty participants were given lessons in Spoken English and Personality Development. Brothers Biju Kalapurackal, Jenson and Mathew contributed their might for the welfare of the young.
