Don Bosco College, Angadikadavu, hosted a national workshop on Enhancing the Quality of Academic Institutions through Academic Auditing. The event held on 24 and 25 February was sponsored by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body of UGC for assessment of institutes of higher education. Dr BabuAnto P, Controller of Examinations, Kannur University, inaugurated the workshop. He spoke at length on certain changes desirable in the examination system to assess appropriately the quality of training in academic institutions and to ensure the employability of the students. Prof. C Thangamuthu, former Vice Chancellor of Bharathidasan University, was the keynote speaker. He underscored certain paradigm shifts such as from teachingandlearning as two processes to teaching-learning as one continuum to scale new heights in academics. There were eight plenary sessions by eminent academicians and ten presentations by participants. The participants numbering 34 and hailing from 16 colleges included principals, faculty members, research scholars and students. Fr K.O. Thomas, Manager, presided over the inaugural function. The workshop was meticulously executed under the leadership of Fr. Johny Jose, Principal, and the faculty members ably assisted by the students of MCA Department.
