MoRD Project Blooms at Don Bosco, Bhadravathi

The MoRD project work was activated at Don Bosco Technical School, Bhadravathi on 12th July 2010 with the active participation of the MoRD staff Members, Mr. George Serrao, Ms. Rita and Mrs. Sowmya P. The programme was initiated with a small prayer by Fr. Rayappa Lawrence, the Principal of the College. The meeting that followed was presided over by Fr. Sebastian Kudackat, the Rector. In the meeting it was decided that Br. Dominic Dinesh would be the Co-coordinator of the MoRD Staff. After the meeting the team visited the BDO office and got the necessary document and the permission to visit the Grama Panchayats to begin the mobilization programme. The BDO office gave the details of the Panchayats that come under Bhadravathi Taluk. There are 39 Village Panchayats in Bhadravathi Taluk and each of these Panchayats contains 6 to 8 villages.
On 13th the team visited Kare Halli Panchayat Area and got the necessary documents from the Panchayat office for the mobilization programme. We also got good response from the religious sisters who are actively involved in social work in the villages. On the 14th Wednesday the team divided itself into two groups. Mr. George Saravo and Mrs. Sowmya visited the villages under Kare Halli Panchayat limits. Br. Dominic Dinesh and Ms Rita visited Hiriyur, Kambadalu Hosur, Aralikoppa Panchayat offices and the schools to get the necessary documents for the field work. These three Panchayats cover more than 20 villages. After two days of active work in the villages the team feels happy about the good response from students to join the MoRD course. Soon the Don Bosco campus will be filled with youngsters who are eagerly waiting to join these courses.

We thank the Almighty for the numerous graces showered on Don Bosco, Bhadravathi.
