Fr. Jacob Anil D’sa took charge as secretary, Karnataka Regional Youth Conference (KRYC) on Saturday, 13 May at the Karnataka Regional Organization for Social Service (KROSS). Rev. Henry D’Souza, the bishop of Bellary presided over the swearing in ceremony. Fr. Mari Joseph, the outgoing regional director was felicitated on the occasion for his five years of service to the youth of Karnataka. Fr. Joice Thonikkuzhiyil , the Salesian provincial of Bangalore, diocesan youth directors from the different dioceses of Bangalore, youth group representatives from the different youth groups that come under KRYC were present on the occasion to thank Fr. Mari and to pledge their co-operation to Fr. Anil.
“I have seen for myself the energetic and efficient way Fr. Anil has been organising the Don Bosco youth in Karnataka. I am sure he is the right man for the job”, said Bishop Henry D’Souza on the occasion. Fr. Anil D’Sa who is a gold medalist from Rajeev Gandhi Central University, Sreeperumpattur in youth work is the second Salesian (after Fr. Sunny Uppan) to serve the Church in Karnataka in this capacity.
“Together let’s move forward’ was the exhortation from Fr. Anil. He thanked Fr. Mari Joseph for five years of selfless service as KRYC secretary and requested the support of all in the effort to reach out to and help the youth of Karnataka.
