We were shocked at the power of the nature and the way the divine providence protects us. On 29th April 2010 at 3.30 p.m. we had a heavy wind in which a part of our tin shed roof flew away to our neighbour’s land. We had 123 children on rolls attending summerfest 2010. It was surprising that not a single child was hurt. The press next day came to know about the calamity and wrote saying 15 children were injured. District administration came forward to help us in rebuilding the shed. With all these we have continued with our summer camp as scheduled. Multipurpose hall and the computer rooms are in tact.

Don Bosco summer fest 2010, was held at Don Bosco Chickpet,Bidar from April 15 to 30. The Inauguration was held on April 15 for which Abdul Kadheer, the Principal of Shaheen Institute of Education, was the chief guest. During these 15 days the children had various classes like spoken English, Kannada, Hindi and Mathematics. Daily the classes were 9:45 am to 4 pm. The children were from nearby villages like Gavi Colony, Naudgiri, Shanthinagar, Chickpet and Bidar town. In the afternoon the lunch was provided in Don Bosco, Chickpet for around 135 to 140 children and in the evening they were given Rasna and biscuits. In the afternoon from 2 to 3 many resource persons were invited to take classes on various topics like Personality Development, First Aid, Dance, Leadership Skills, Yoga, Media Education, Karate and Music etc. From 3 to 4, the children had different competitions like mono act, fancy dress, dance, singing, drawing and quiz. Everyday there were 7 to 8 staff members to take classes and conduct party games and party songs. On April 28 the children viewed a movie named Veera Madakari. On May 01 the children go for one day picnic to the Vishvas Garden and the concluding progra mme will be held in that Garden.
