A month long celebration in honour of our Blessed Mother concluded on 14th of August with an Academy in Don Bosco, Tumkur in the presence of Vice Provincial Fr. Jose Koyikkal. The celebration of the Marian month was rich with variety of activities like Prayer Services, Bhajan Services, Rosary Services, Marian matches, Marathon, Marian Quiz, Marian Nite, Marian Serenade, Night Olympics, Marian Documentaries, Marian Movie, Singing Competition, Clay Modelling, Drawing Competition, Literary Competition etc.
The academy began with a stage presentation depicting the assumption of our Blessed Mother and the independence of our country followed by the words of introduction by the Rector, Fr. Tomy Chirackal. The Bosco Band played a harmonious Musical Piece. The apostolic boys enriched the event with their melodious voice by singing a hymn to Our Lady. The preparatory Boys presented a skit on the theme “Our Lady and the Independence of India” and the aspirants and Savio bhavan boys enthralled the audience with their patriotic dance. The chief guest of the day, Fr. Vice Provincial addressed the audience and expressed his joy and admiration for being with the community on that eve. Sibin one of the Aspirants delivered a speech and Sandeep another Aspirant, recited a poem in honour of our Blessed Mother. Fr. Francis Bose proposed the Vote of Thanks. The academy was concluded with National Anthem played by Bosco Band. The next day, on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Fr. Vice Provincial presided over the Solemn Holy Eucharist.
