Don Bosco Irinjalakuda endeavours towards the transformation of the society through education
Don Bosco, Irinjalakuda, began in March 1962 at the invitation of the late Bishop of Thrissur, Rt. Rev. George Alappatt. A plot of 11 acres was bought by Fr. John Med, then Provincial. The government of Kerala sanctioned Don Bosco High school as the first English medium unaided recognised residential school on 6th May 1962. The Malayalam medium section was discontinued later. The new building that could accommodate 160 students in the boarding was inaugurated on 27th May 1961 during the rectorship of Fr. Abraham Poonolly. The Boarding began on 2nd January 1963. In 1987 a spacious indoor stadium was built to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the Institution.
