Don Bosco Higher Secondary School

History	Don Bosco, Irinjalakuda, began in March 1962 on the invitation of the late Bishop of Thrissur, Rt Rev George Alappatt. Soon a High School, a Lower Primary School and a boarding were started. It began as an English-medium and a Malayalam-medium school and the Government sanctioned the Don Bosco High School as an unaided but recognised school on 6th May 1962. The Malayalam-medium section was discontinued later. A boarding section too was started on 2nd January 1963, which was closed later on. In 1987 a spacious indoor stadium was built to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the Institution, and to provide better facilities for the Youth Centre.
Scope	The scope of the house is to educate youngsters and to help them to have an all-round development of their personality in the moral, spiritual, physical, psychological and intellectual spheres by inculcating in them universal and Christian values using the preventive system of Don Bosco. We also extend pastoral service to the local people through meaningful and regular celebration of liturgical services and sacraments in the quasi-parish entrusted to us.
