Bangalore Oniyavara Seva Coota (BOSCO), organized Independence Day celebration at BOSCO Life Skill Training Centre, Sumanahalli, Bangalore, on August 15, 2017. This year’s Independence Day celebration at BOSCO was based on the theme, “Caring for the Earth”.

Fr. Mathew Thomas, Executive Director, BOSCO, Bangalore, in his introductory words exhorted everyone to conserve the Earth to make it more livable place for our children. Addressing the gathering Chief Guest BN Mohan Kumar, Corporator, Malagala, Bangalore, appreciated the services rendered by the organization to under privileged children. Mahadevaiah, PSI, Kamakshipalya Police Station, Bangalore, everyone has to make efforts to protect the earth and make the society child friendly. Amarnath, Ward President, Malagala, Bangalore, Fr. Lindo Francis, Director, Sumanahalli Society, Biju Thomas, Director, ECHO Special Home and Melwin from Australia were present for the programme.
Children from Jyothi Seva, School for Special Children, Bangalore performed theme based dances. Over five hundred children from the various centres of BOSCO and localities of service participated in the event. Fr. Regi Jacob, Director, BOSCO Nilaya welcomed the gathering, Manjunath compered the programme and Fr. Prasad, Director, BOSCO Sumanahalli, proposed the vote of thanks.
