The Initiation Day at Don Bosco College, Mannuthy was held on June 30. The function began with a prayer. Then Fr. Paul Pottackal CMI addressed the parents of the students and Fr. P J Thomas SDB addressed the students separately. Later the inauguration ceremony began with the welcome speech by Prof. Paulson Chalissery, the College Principal. Fr. P J Thomas, Director of the college, delivered the presidential address. His Lordship, Mar Joseph Neelankavil, Bishop Emeritus of Sagar Diocese, carried out the inauguration by lighting the lamp. This was followed by a reading from the Holy Bible by a student of the college and later, a prayer invoking the blessing of the Almighty. After the ceremony of Oath Taking by the students, the hall was brightened up with the lighting of candles by all the freshers as a symbol of spreading the Light of Knowledge to each and every one in the society. Mr. Justin Johny Maliyamave (Staff Secretary), Mr. Sivaraj (PTA Representative), and Mr. Timmy Thomas (Student Representative) felicitated the gathering. The initiation ceremony came to a close with the vote of thanks by Fr. Joy Vadukamchery SDB. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem.
