The Annual Animation Programme for the Administrators of the Salesian communities and the presences of the province of Bangalore took off at the Provincial House this morning (July 24, 2010). 36 confreres from Karnataka and Kerala are attending the meeting. After the prayer, Fr George Mathew, the Provincial Economer, presented the schedule of events, and recalled that the rationale for the main themes of the meeting was the mandate by the Provincial Chapter XI: to organize the animation meetings of the year on Human Rights, Child Rights, Juvenile Justice Act and the Right to Education Act.

The first session was on Child Rights in the Context of Human Rights and its Implication in Various Settings by Rev Fr Varghese Pallippuram SDB. In the second session, Ms Anuradha Saibaba Rajesh (Assistant Professor, National Law School of India University, Bangalore) enlightened the participants on Right to Education Act and Consequences for Institutional and Non-institutional settings. Thomas & Co – Chartered Accountants were the resource persons for the third session which was on Financial Management – Updates and Clarifications. Fr K.O. Thomas, Vice-Provincial, presided over the Eucharist in the evening. Fr Provincial concluded day with his the goodnight talk after which, being the 24th of the month, the blessing of Mary Help of Christians was given.
