The Salesian presence at Pavur mainly consists of Holy Cross Parish, catering to over 100 families of Tulu Catholics belonging to the “KORAGA” Community of Scheduled Tribes and a few Konkani Families. It is the only parish in the world that conducts liturgical services including the Eucharistic Celebration in Tulu.

Mission Sunday: It is a common practice in the parishes of Mangalore Diocese to send a collection (dumb) box each to every family in the parish during the Mission Sunday so that collection can be done whole through the year and be returned on the Mission Sunday the following year. Besides collecting back these boxes, this year some chance games were organised by Don Bosco Youth of the Parish under the able guidance of Fr. Gracian, the Parish Priest, and Bro. Stanly.

The Titular Feast: Every year the Feast is celebrated on the last Wednesday of October and this year the day fell on the 28th. The celebration began on Sunday, October 25th, with a Solemn Sung Mass in Tulu, presided over by Rev. Fr William, a native of Mangalore but belonging to Ajmir Diocese. A colourful and devotional Eucharistic Procession followed. A few competitions like frog race for small kids, three legged race & potato race for children and youth, filling the bottle for couples, and musical chair for the elderly etc. were organized.

The parish council, Legion of Mary, Don Bosco Youth, all joined together to decorate the church and the surroundings for the feast.  The highlight of the actual feast day was the Solemn Sung Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Herald Mascharenas, the parish priest of Manjeshwar and assisted by other 15 priests of the Deanery.

Conclusion of the Month of Rosary:  On 31st October, at 6.00 pm, as part of the conclusion of the Marian month about 200 parishioners gathered together near the Parish church. There the Don Bosco Youth had already decorated the statue of Our Blessed Mother and mounted it on an auto rickshaw. All the people went in procession to a nearby Shrine (wayside chapel) of our Lady, about half a kilometer away. There we together recited the Rosary. It was concluded with a blessing by Fr. Gracian.
