With the message of peace and harmony the Onam season has once again come alive. The staff, the students and the management of Don Bosco School, Vaduthala celebrated Onam before the school closed for the ten days of Onam vacation. Don Bosco Junior School had the celebration on August 25. It was marvellous to see the young butterflies in traditional Kerala dress, singing and dancing. Rev. Fr. Rector inaugurated the Onam & Teachers’ day celebrations. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Ottaplackal welcomed the gathering, and Rev. Fr. Babu Manissery & Rev. Fr. Joffie Puthuva felicitated. The function was indeed made colourful with the arrival of Mahabali, traditional Kerala items such as Puli Kali, Thiruvathirakali, enchanting flower bed, etc. On the same day there was also the Onam Sadya for the teachers and non-teaching staff of both the schools.

The High School Section had their Onam and the teachers’ day celebrations on August 26. In the morning there was an inter-house Pookkalam competition. This was followed by the public gathering. The function was inaugurated by Mr. V T Satheeshan, MLA. Rev. Fr. Devassy Chirackel presided over the function. During the function there was a special Guru Pooja performed by the students. All the teachers were honored and special gifts given to each of them. After the function there was the Thiruvathira by the H S girls. It was followed by the Onappattu competition. At the end, Rev. Fr. Principal announced the results and gave away the prizes.
