Jubilee MassThe Community of Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore solemnly celebrated the Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee of Rev Fr Thomas Anchukandam (Provincial) on December 5, 2009.  The festivities attended by more than 300 guests included Salesian confreres, other members of Salesian Family, men and women religious, friends and well-wishers from the neighbourhood of Provincial House as well as of Kristu Jyoti College, and relatives of the jubilarian.

Jubilee FelicitationThe celebrations began at 05.30 p.m. with the Eucharist presided over by the Jubilarian and concelebrated by more than 30 priests.  Fr Jose Mathew (former provincial and companion of the jubilarian), in his homily, dwelt on three traits of priests: communicator of the sympathy of Christ, victim and intercessor.  The seminarians of Kristu Jyoti College animated the music.  The felicitation programme, after the Mass, was a gift from the religious communities of the neighbourhood and relatives of the jubilarian.  A melodious instrumental by Mr Sangeeth Thomas, a past-pupil of Don Bosco Cultural Centre, Vennala (Kochi) and leading instrumentalist of Bangalore, mesmerized the audience.  The words of welcome by Rev Fr VM Mathew (Rector), and the felicitations by Fr K.O. Thomas (Vice-Provincial) and by Fr Thomas Tharayil (Rector, Kristu Jyoti College) verbalized the sentiments of the celebrations.  With the sumptuous meal, after the vote of thanks by the jubilarian, the celebrations came to a close.Silver Jubilee
