South India Regional Level Salesian Youth Movement Leaders’ & Animators’ Formation Programme was held at Don Bosco Provincial House on 19 – 20 August 2017. The programme began with an official inaugural at 9.15 am. Br Chacko SDB a veteran agriculturalist was the chief guest for the programme.
Fr. Frddie the Province Secretary and Vice Rector of the Provincial house welcomed young people and the animators from Trichy, Chennnai and Bangalore provinces who had come for the programme. Fr. Jose Koyckal the Vice Provicnial and the Youth Pastoral Dlegate of Bangalore Province in his inaugural speech exhorted the young people to be energetic and be at the service of the society by being effective leaders.
The two day programme was aimed at training the young leaders in Salesian Youth Spirituality and Salesian Youth Leadership. Sessions on the following topics were conducted Leadership; Distinguishing characteristics of SDB leadership, Understanding Movements; SYM – History & Relevance, SYM-India in the making; Revising Statutes & Guidelines, Building & leading Movements, SDB Identity; Preventive System Today, Salesian Youth Spirituality- Living & promoting it, etc… The youth had lots of opportunity to interact and build rapport with each other. Fun and frolic, prayers experiences, reflections and intellectual discourses marked the youth gathering.

The youth leaders meet was organized by Fr Robert Simon SDB the National head of the Groups and Movements DBYA Delhi with the able support of Fr. Anil D’sa the Youth Pastoral Core Team Member for Groups and Social Experience of the Province of Bangalore. The programme was hosted by Bosco Youth Karnataka and was attended by 75 youth leaders and animators from Trichy, Chennai and Bangalore Provinces.
