One cannot understand Don Bosco without understanding his dreams.  John Baptist Lemoyne, the one who collected most of the material which was used to write the Biographical Memoirs says: “Don Bosco and the word dream are correlative…. It is truly astounding how this phenomenon went on in his life for sixty years” (BM I, 190).  It is estimated that Don Bosco wrote down, narrated or mentioned about 153 dreams[1].  We present here a list of 127 of these dreams which are recorded in the Biographical Memoirs as found in the index to the various volumes of the Biographical Memoirs.  There could be other dreams recorded in the Biographical Memoirs which are not listed in the index.  This will serve as a quick reference to those who would like to read more in detail any one of the dreams of Don Bosco.
