Don Bosco Central School (CBSE), Puthuppally, the first CBSE School in the province, inaugurated on 2nd June 2010, is a long cherished dream come true for the residents of Puthuppally with yet another educational slot offered to the talented and ambitious children of this locality at their doorsteps. This great new venture was inaugurated by the Opposition Leader of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, Sri.Oommen Chandy, who said that School Education in the CBSE syllabus has become a pressing need of the locality and that he hopes to see not only a Don Bosco College but a University in the Don Bosco, Puthuppally campus. His Lordship, Mar Philipose Mar Stephanus, the Auxiliary Bishop of Tiruvalla Archdiocese, who presided over the function also pointed out that an alternative scheme of study has become indispensable in the present context to tide over the degradation and degeneration of the State educational system. Fr. Jose Koyickal, head of the Education Commission of the Province, represented the province and delivered the key note address.

Rev. Fr.Kuriakose Shasthamkala, the Rector and Principal of the Don Bosco Higher Secondary school, welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering narrating a brief history of the new school, while the Principal of the new school, Rev. George Vellakadayil, thanked all.

The CBSE School opened by the Don Bosco Society is indeed a great relief to the troubled seekers of education hailing from the lower middle class families as the content and quality of education offered by the State controlled educational system has nose-dived to fathomless depths. Though the school has a humble beginning with classes from LKG to VIth, 300 students and 14 staff members, it is all set for taking giant strides in the future for the sake of the new generation in the Salesian way.
