A day spent in discussion and reflection, sharing of ideas in the commission and in the assembly, a day of presentation and group work – The fourth day of the PC XI.
The fourth day of the Provincial Chapter commenced imploring God’s blessings through the central act of the day: Eucharist presided over by Fr. George Mathew (Provincial Economer). After completing the normal daily procedures, the Chapter continued with the presentation of the fifth theme – Province Matters. Some of the suggestions that came up during the interactions following the presentation are: Apostolate for the marginalized youth to be made part of the Educative Pastoral Plan of each community, solidarity fund to be directed towards setting up Ailing confreres’ Home at Aluva, to introduce debit card and internet banking, when intiating new presences, priority to be given to Chickmagalore, Chamrajnagar, Koppal, Bijapur, Idukki, Pathanamthitta, and Malappuram. Immediately after the presentation, discussions were held in commissions to integrate the suggestions and make the necessary corrections. The presentation of the edited version of the themes followed the discussions in the commissions. There was a short family gathering in the evening followed by a dinner hosted for the chapter members by Mr. T. J. Thomas. The day came to a close with the goodnight talk by Fr. Provincial.
