Ullasakkalam 2010 is an innovative and creative venture organized for the children of Don Bosco Snehabhavan Project, Palluruthy. This year the summer camps were organized in three different centres. The camps focuse on the intellectual, physical, psychological, educational and cultural development of the children. These camps benefited the children of Don Bosco, Snehabhavan, Students of Don Bosco Open School and Children from nearby slums and colonies of Sneha Bhavan Annexe.

The camp for the inmates of Don Bosco and Snehabhavan commenced on April 5th, with an inaugural function at Don Bosco Palluruthy. The function was presided over by Rev. Fr. Kuriakose (Rector, Don Bosco, Palluruthy). It is organized with the collaboration of Salesian brothers, Brothers from other religious Congregations, MSW students from different colleges, Don Bosco Staff, invited trainers and other organizations. Some of the innovative programmes included in the camp were training in Study skills, cartoon and caricature drawing, newspaper analysis and training in newspaper reading, sex education, craft, guided tour to historical sites, group dynamics, training in Malayalam pronunciation and Two-day outdoor living skills.

The one month camp culminated with the valedictory function on April 30th. Dignitaries like Mrs Eliyamma and other board members of CVJ Foundation enriched the day with their presence and short messages. The event was made colourful and lively by the rendering of singari melam (Chenda) Band and other cultural programmes.
