The YAR (Young at Risk) Centres can be described as one of the characteristic traits of the Salesians of the province of Bangalore. We have established such centres in areas where there are optimum possibilities of children being caught up in the wrong hands. In all these centres the Salesians maintain a regular street presence so that they may save many ill-fortuned children who are helpless and homeless and who are likely to fall prey to evil groups. These children are brought to safety and then they go through various stages of psychological and spiritual renewal so that they are given a fresh start in life. These children are then helped to study and find a job, thus living a fulfilling and meaningful life. Once again the light of infinite possibilities is kindled in their lives so that they may follow their own dream in life.
