“WRITING IS REFINED THINKING”

“Writing is refined thinking,” said Fr. Dr. Bobby Kannezhath SDB, during the animation of a virtual meet with the brothers of Aluva. The online conference was on the topic ‘Ways to Improve Writing Skills.’ Fr. Bobby enunciated on four kinds of writing, namely: creative writing, journalistic writing, academic writing and technical writing. Being himself an accomplished writer and a competent journalist, he made the session very interesting and practical by providing apt examples for each kind of writing. “The online video conference was highly useful and helped me to understand the fundamentals and more when it comes to literary writing,” said Br. Albin Jose of the second year philosophy. Br. Sam Robin of the first year philosophy said “It was an essential aid for our literary enhancement and also a handy tool, as the world is largely influenced by all sorts of literature especially with the proliferation of social media.” The virtual meet was an initiative of the Literary Sodality as part of their “Literary Week” held earlier this month. Other events of the week were: Memory Test, Fast Writing Competition, Short Story Competition, Quote Writing Competition, Literary Exhibition and Mega General Knowledge Quiz.
