World AIDS Day: Don Bosco College, Kottiyam organizes Awareness Programme & Rally

The Department of Social Work of Don Bosco College, Kottiyam, Kollam, in association with SWADES (Social Work Association of Don Bosco for Empowering Society), District Legal Service Authority and the KISMAT project commemorated World AIDS Day on December 1, 2022. The programme aimed to express solidarity with those affected by AIDS and was inaugurated by Mrs. Daya Rajagopal, Secretary of Taluk Legal Service Authority.

The students portrayed a human logo on the AIDS symbol and a theme dance at Don Bosco College and Kollam beach. The programme, which saw the participation of 147 students from the Department of Social Work, concluded with an awareness rally from Chinnakkada Bus Bay bus to Kollam beach. The rally was flagged off by the Hon’ble Sub-Judge of the District Legal Service Authority, Mrs. Anju Meera Birla. Dr. Y. Joy (Principal, Don Bosco College), Fr. Binny Manuel SDB (Vice-Principal), Fr. Joby Mathew SDB (HoD, Social Work), Adv. Dileep (DLSA Panel Lawyer), and Ms. Reshma Raju (KISMAT District Coordinator), also spoke during the occasion.
