BOSCO Bengaluru organizes Don Bosco Fest 2023

BOSCO, Bengaluru, organized the Grand Finale of Children’s Cultural Fest on January 29, 2023, at BOSCO Mane, Chamarajpet, Bengaluru. Delivering the presidential address, Fr. Varghese Pallipuram, Executive Director, BOSCO, Bengaluru, expressed his happiness to have gathered for celebrating the feast of Don Bosco.

Mr. K Naganna Gowda, Chairperson, Chairperson, Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) said, “Children, if you work hard in the present, your future would be brighter. Always remember that as children and students, you too have the responsibility of shaping your future”. Ms. Geetha Laxmi, DCPO, South, Bengaluru Urban, urged the children to make use of the schemes of the government. Layendra Kokila, Actor and Music Composer, Kannada Film Industry, encouraged the children to make use of the opportunities coming their way and always aim towards reaching the goal set forth. Dr. Srinivasa R., Resident Medical Officer (RMO), Victoria Hospital, Bengaluru also spoke on the occasion.

Dr. Prasanna T, who started a Kannada tabloid called Police Bete in 2012, and has been exposing several irregularities and injustices in society and advocating the government on the same through his newsletter, was bestowed the prestigious national Alumni Award.

The winners of the month-long competitions and events organized for the children such as quiz competitions, children’s sports day, inter-centre cultural competitions, etc., were awarded during the valedictory function. Fr. Prasad, Director, BOSCO Mane, welcomed the gathering. Shivamallu, State Coordinator, BOSCO Foster Care Programme, proposed the vote of thanks.

Around 350 children, friends and well-wishers of BOSCO gathered for the event.
