Uniting Body and Mind: International Yoga Day Celebrations Foster Holistic Well-being at Don Bosco Bhadravathi

Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India and has gained popularity worldwide. It encompasses physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation, and relaxation techniques. Yoga is known for its numerous health benefits, including increased flexibility, improved strength and balance, stress reduction, and enhanced mental clarity. International Yoga Day is observed on June 21st each year. It is a global event that aims to raise awareness about the benefits of practicing yoga and promote its holistic approach to well-being. An invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition, Yoga has emerged as one of the most trusted means to boost physical and mental well-being. The word “Yoga” is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning “to join”, “to yoke” or “to unite”, symbolizing the unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between human and nature, and a holistic approach to health and well-being.

As part of the International Yoga Day celebrations Don Bosco Bhadravathi, Don Bosco ITI organized a Yoga Day celebrations in Collaboration with the neighboring Government Higher Primary School, West of Ujjanipura. In the programme organised by the team Rev. Fr. Christu Raj Nilagal was the president and Mr. K M Malthesh, a State Yoga Organizer lead the team with his practical knowledge and took the youth and children through a wonderful field experience. THe programme was attended by Mr. Muhammad Rafiq, Mr. Anand, Mrs. Jyothi and Mrs. Sumathi and the staff of the ITI. Thanks to the generosity of all the students for joining hands and making efforts to build up a better HUMANITY.
