Don Bosco, Sachivothamapuram, started as a Tuition Centre, in 2001 for the school going
children of the locality and a Youth Centre for the youth of the neighbourhood, in the
archdiocese of Changanasserry, is now the apostolic school for the Province of Bangalore in
the Kerala region. The house is built on a 5.3 acre plot, 11 kilometres from Kottayam town
and 8 kilometres to Changanasserry town.
Besides the apostolic school, for the benefit of the young people of the neighbourhood,
the community continues to organize a daily Youth Centre. The Institution is surrounded by
number of colonies in a radius of 5 km.

As indicated above the main apostolate of the community is the formation of the students
or junior seminarians of the Apostolic School. The boys who in some way are inclined to the
idea of becoming Salesian religious and priests are chosen through vocation camps.
The community of Don Bosco Sachivothamapuram consists of four priests, two clerics and
fourty five apostolic school boys.
