Kottayam Sahodaya Chess Tournament at Don Bosco Central School Puthuppally

The 14th Kottayam Sahodaya Inter School Chess Championship Tournament was held at Don Bosco Central School Puthupally on September 16. The President of Kerala Chess Federation Mr. Rajesh Natakam was the Chief Guest and the President of Kottayam Sahodaya Mr. Benny Choondachery (Principal of San Jose Public School) presided over the opening ceremony. School Rector & Manager Fr. Devassi Chirakkal, Vice Rector Fr. Jose Tadathil, Principal Fr. Josh Kanjuparambil and General Coordinator Mr. Devasya Kuriakose participated in the event. A total of 600 pupils from 40 schools took part in the competition and SFS Public School Ettumanur won the championship. The second position was secured by the host, Don Bosco Central School. Kottayam Sahodaya Treasurer Mr. Franklin B Mathew distributed the prizes to the winners at the closing ceremony.
