Young Vibes at DB KGF: Display of Sporting Talents and Renewal of Spirit

Don Bosco Bangalore Zonal Youth Meet and Sports Day celebration at Don Bosco KGF was a great success, with around 120 participants consisting of 7 teams. Fr. Previnth, the Rector, inaugurated the event and acknowledged the initiative and organization by Fr. Dominic Savio, the local Youth Director, who made it possible after a gap of several years.

The events of the day consisted of the election of the zonal office bearers and the sports tournament. The women competed at shuttle, whereas the men battled it out in the volleyball and football courts. On completion of the volleyball and shuttle tournaments the participants were served a sumptuous lunch by the community.

In the afternoon Fr Shalbin, the Vice-Provincial who graced the occasion, inaugurated the football tournament. He also awarded certificates to all the participants and trophies to the winners, making it a memorable day of sports and merriment.

The active presence and participation of the 27 auxilium youths from Bangalore displayed the depths of the bond among the salesian family and the intrest that the Salesian sisters show to be involved in the mission of Don Bosco.

The local youth of Irudayapuram and Susaipalayam deserve our thanks and appreciation for the hard work put in under the guidance of Fr Dominic to offer a memorable day to all who gathered for the programme.
