Don Bosco Hospet Hosts Unforgettable International Women’s Day Celebration: Empowering 1600 Women and Honoring Achievements

The International Women’s Day celebration at Don Bosco Hospet on March 6, 2024, was a resounding success, organized by the Don Bosco Centre for Social Action Hospet in collaboration with the Don Bosco TARUNI Women Development Society. A total of 1600 women from THARUN’s Self Help Groups participated in the event, which was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Fr. Shalbin, the Vice Provincial of INK, Fr. Roshan. D’Sa, the Rector of Don Bosco Hospet. Fr. Peter John, The director of Don Bosco Centre for Social Action, Fr. Praveen, Principal of Don Bosco School Hospet, Fr. John M. Trainer, HDFC Training Centre, Hospet,  Mr. Kotresh, manager of BDCC Bank, Hospet, Uday Bekkel, Program cordinator of Azim Premjee Foundation, Hospet, Mr. H.M. Nagaraj, Divisional Manager,  Sangha Mithra, Hospet, and Mrs Hanumanthamma, the president of TARUNI Self Help Group. The event commenced at 11:30 am with a prayer song followed by a warm welcome speech by Fr. Peter John. Inspirational speeches from the dignitaries uplifted the spirits of the attendees, while cultural performances by the women added vibrancy to the occasion. Additionally, the program included the commendable gesture of awarding prizes to children of women who achieved distinction in their 10th standard and PUC exams. The celebration concluded on a delightful note with a sumptuous meal prepared by the dedicated staff of Don Bosco TARUNI.
