A Grace filled Official Inauguration of PC XVI providing an effective kick start to the Chapter
The Inaugural Ceremony began with a creative Stage Presentation revealing the theme of the chapter. A classical prayer dance added grace and serenity to this Inaugural Function. This was followed by a video presentation on the theme. Fr. Vice-Provincial welcomed the gathering and invited all to participate wholeheartedly during these moments of grace. Fr. Jose Thomas Koyickal, the provincial, in his address, using the words of Pope Francis spoke about how our call is not survival but the call of the Spirit to be alive and to take up the Challenges of the world of today. Fr. Provincial referred to the chapter as a sacred Cenacle, a space where the confreres come together and look to the future. Felicitations by various members of the Salesian Family and exhortation towards greater fidelity towards our calling and a prophetic understanding of our mission. To add further joy on this occasion, two books were released- Theological Formation of Salesians in India with Special Reference to Kristu Jyoti College Bangalore (1967-1976) and Glow in the Horizon (Second Edition) were released. A meaningful tribute of remembrance for confreres who have gone to their eternal rest was held. The theme song composed by Don Bosco Aluva was released. Fr Previnth Joe Tony the moderator of the Chapter concluded the ceremony by proposing the vote of thanks.
