Chitra: Leadership workshop on Child Right Clubs in Chitradurga District

CHITHRA: LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP ON CHILD RIGHT CLUBS IN CHITHRADURGA, DISTICT.
A leadership workshop was organized in CHITHRA Don Bosco on 6th of August for the child rights clubs’ representatives from selected high schools of Chitradurga District at the CHITHRA, Don Bosco social work organization. Around 70 student Leaders of the Child Right Clubs were actively Participated from the Workshop.


Mr. Nagabhushan, BEO of Chitradurga taluk, Fr. V.M Mathew sdb ( The administrator of CHITHRA Don Bosco , Child Labor Project Director Mr. Satish Kumar , Dc. Anthonyraj (Director of CHITHRA) and student representatives inaugurated the program.


Mr. Nagabhushan spoke about children, child rights, and the protection of these rights. He appreciated CHITHRA Don Bosco for its significant role in raising awareness among the children in coordination with government systems.


Mr. Sampath Kumar BRC, Chitradurga, addressed the workshop, advocating for the system of complaint and advice boxes in every school to prevent physical and mental abuse, as well as sexual assaults at the school level. Mr. Timma Reddy, President of the District Government Employees’ Association, noted that societal improvement is achievable only when children receive such training to create awareness.Child Labor Project Director Mr. Satish Kumar from the Labor Department informed the children about the Child and Adolescent Labor Prohibition and Regulation Act during the workshop.


Ms. Manjula, Legal advicer, District Child Protection Unit, Chitradurga, provided information on the role and duties of the District Child Protection Unit in protecting children’s rights and the available facilities for children from the department.


Mrs. Anthony Theresa, Program & Communication Coordinator of CHITHRA Don Bosco, addressed the children on leadership, leadership qualities, and the importance of leadership. She conducted an ice-breaking activity and encouraged everyone to become good leaders who can rescue children from child marriage and child labor and make better society. Teachers from 15 various school, Tuition teacher MS. Arpitha and CHITHRA staff members were present in the program.
