Karnataka Youth Leaders Gather for PALS 2024: Empowering the Next Generation at Don Bosco

The PALS Program, conducted on October 20th at Don Bosco Davangere, represented a significant convening of the leadership within the Don Bosco Youth Movement, Karnataka. This event gathered nearly 60 youth leaders and 10 animators from various centers, marking a day dedicated to training and leadership development. The program was organized by Fr. Uday Kumar SDB, the Regional Youth Director of Karnataka, alongside Fr. Regi SDB, the Zonal Director of the Hospet Zone. Its primary objective was to empower young leaders while facilitating the election of State Youth Leaders for the Karnataka region.

The day commenced with an inaugural ceremony that set an inspiring tone of unity. Fr. Regi delivered a thought-provoking orientation address on leadership, highlighting the essential qualities and skills required for effective guidance within the movement. Following this, Fr. Uday presented a detailed overview of the roles and responsibilities expected of the newly elected state leaders, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in their positions. After lunch, the eagerly anticipated election took place. This democratic process encouraged youth leaders to actively engage in selecting their representatives, fostering a sense of ownership and involvement within the movement. The election underscored the collaborative spirit of the Don Bosco Youth Movement, ensuring that leadership reflects the voices and aspirations of its members.

In addition to the formal proceedings, the program provided a vibrant platform for networking. Leaders had the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and forge new friendships with peers from various regions of Karnataka.
