Yuvalokha: Youth Meet Organized by Don Bosco Aluva Seminary

As part of the feast celebrations of St. John Bosco, the community of Don Bosco Aluva Seminary, under the leadership of the brothers, organized a youth meet titled “Yuvalokha.” The programme was conducted for the youth from the parishes where the brothers carry out their ministry.

The youth meet commenced around 2:00 p.m. with the arrival of participants from various parishes. The programme began with a prayer, followed by an introductory address by the Rector of the Seminary. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. A lively and creative stage presentation by the brothers set an enthusiastic tone for the event and was well received by the youth. Cultural programmes presented by Fr. Joshy and the brothers of the seminary added to the joyful atmosphere of the gathering.

The highlight of the meet was the session by the resource person, Fr. Jitto Kunnath, Assistant Director of BREADS, Bangalore Province. His talk emphasized the importance of having clear aims and ambitions in life and highlighted the role of faith, prayer, and the Church in the journey of young people. The session was deeply touching and highly interactive, with thought-provoking questions posed to the youth. Through inspiring stories of modern-day saintly figures, Fr. Jitto conveyed that holiness is achievable even in the present world. The session concluded with his wishes for a meaningful, God-centered life for all the participants.

Following the talk, the youth took part in interactive games that encouraged fellowship and mutual understanding. This was followed by 20 minutes of Eucharistic Adoration, culminating in the veneration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Benediction, which provided a spiritually enriching conclusion to the prayerful segment of the programme.

The youth meet concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the coordinator, expressing gratitude to all those who worked tirelessly for the success of the event and to the youth for their enthusiastic participation. A group photograph was then taken to commemorate the occasion. The participants were later served high tea and a meal at the seminary quadrangle, where they enjoyed quality time with the brothers.

The youth expressed their appreciation for the gathering and thanked the fathers and brothers for organizing such a meaningful event. The programme concluded around 5:30 p.m., as the participants returned to their homes. The youth meet proved to be a memorable and enriching experience, especially for the brothers of the seminary. The community of Don Bosco Seminary, Aluva (2025–26), extends heartfelt gratitude to the superiors and the resource person, Fr. Jitto Kunnath, for their guidance and support in making this event a success.
