Celebrating the Spirit of Onam at Don Bosco Vaduthala

At Don Bosco Thattazham LP School, the tiny tots welcomed the dignitaries and Mahabali with drums, claps, flowers and poopoli on 21 August. Children, management, teachers, parents and past pupils, dressed in traditional attire, gathered in the Assembly Hall for a day of celebration and fun. Various traditional games, including Tug of War, added to the excitement. Fr. Thomas Meckattuparambil, Rector and Manager, delivered the presidential address, while Fr. C. J. Sebastian, Director of the Sports Academy, felicitated the gathering. The celebration concluded with a sumptuous Onam Sadhya.

The Onam celebrations at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School on 22 August brought students together in vibrant traditional attire to welcome Mahabali. Fr. Thomas Meckattuparambil, Rector and Manager, was the Chief Guest and delivered the presidential address. Fr. John Palithottathil, Vice Principal, and Fr. C. J. Sebastian, Director of the Sports Academy, felicitated the gathering. The arrival of Mahabali in his traditional kingly attire was greeted with great enthusiasm, followed by colourful cultural programmes presented by the students. The celebrations continued with various Nadan Kalikal, adding to the festive spirit. The Junior School students also joined the celebrations with equal enthusiasm.

The Don Bosco ITI students celebrated Onam on 21 August under the leadership of Fr. Sebastian Mudakamchirayil, Principal. Students and staff of the ITI and workshop participated enthusiastically in a variety of traditional games and fun activities. The Tug of War was a special highlight, with students enjoying the festive moments with great energy and camaraderie.Across the campus, the celebrations reflected the true spirit of Onam—joy, unity, tradition and togetherness—leaving students and staff with happy and memorable moments.
