Ethnic day 2026 Roots and Rhythms
Celebrating the Colours, Cultures and Traditions of India at DBMS
Don Bosco Mithra School (DBMS) celebrated Ethnic Day 2026 – “Roots and Rhythms” with vibrant displays of India’s rich cultural heritage and unity in diversity. The celebration began with a Prayer Song by the School Choir, followed by an Interfaith Religious Prayer led by Merlyn, Sanvika and Afeefa, representing Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. Shaun Leon Victor of Grade 5 delivered the Welcome Address.
A major highlight was the Ethnic and Traditional Wear Showcase by students of Grades 1 to 4, who represented Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh in colourful traditional attire. Their confident presentation brought India’s diverse cultural traditions alive on stage. Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Benny spoke on the importance of respecting diverse cultures while staying rooted in one’s heritage. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Rebecca Hannah of Grade 10 and the National Anthem. The festivities continued with music, dance and joyful interaction, making the day a memorable celebration of India’s cultural diversity.
