CISCE National Table Tennis Championship Concludes at Don Bosco Central School, Irinjalakuda; Tamil Nadu–Puducherry–Andaman & Nicobar Crowned Overall Champions
Irinjalakuda, Aug 31: The CISCE National Table Tennis Championship concluded at Don Bosco Central School, Irinjalakuda, with the Tamil Nadu–Puducherry–Andaman & Nicobar region emerging as the overall champions, securing 31 points through consistent performances across categories.
Organised by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), the championship saw participation from around 250 players representing 16 regions across the country. The closing ceremony was attended by Irinjalakuda RDO Shibu Paul as the chief guest.
In the team events, Maharashtra secured first place in the Under-14 category, Uttar Pradesh topped the Under-17 division, and West Bengal emerged winners in the Under-19 category. Tamil Nadu–Puducherry–Andaman & Nicobar finished runners-up in all three categories, which helped them clinch the overall championship. Karnataka–Goa (Under-14 and Under-17) and Andhra Pradesh (Under-19) secured third positions.
In the individual events, Dhanyashree Dattatreya Tharde of Maharashtra won the Under-14 title, while Iniya and Doniya of the Tamil Nadu–Puducherry–Andaman & Nicobar region clinched the Under-17 and Under-19 titles respectively.
Trophies and medals were distributed to the winning teams and players, and outstanding performers were honoured during the ceremony. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Vattakunnel, Rector and Manager, delivered the welcome address, while Rev. Fr. Shino Kalappurackal, CISCE Kerala Region Sports Coordinator and ASISC Kerala Regional Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
Rev. Fr. Jithin Michael (Principal), Rev. Fr. Shibu Davis (Administrator), Rev. Fr. Sebastian Ottaplackal (Spiritual Animator), PTA President Sharika Sivaprasad, Chief Referee and International Umpire Thomas M.T., Sports Coordinator Bindu Babu, Coach Somu Banerjee, and Physical Education Teacher Jithin Raj were among those present.
