Don Bosco Youth Centre Palluruthy Celebrates Membership Day and World Migrants’ Day at Sneha Bhavan Annexe:

Palluruthy, 4 October 2026: Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC), Palluruthy, celebrated its Membership Day on Sunday, 4 October 2026, at 7.00 p.m. at Sneha Bhavan Annexe. The occasion also marked the celebration of World Migrants’ Day.

The programme brought together members of the Youth Centre, including inmates of Sneha Bhavan Annexe and past pupils of Don Bosco and Annexe. The highlight of the evening was the election of the new office bearers. Following their election, the newly appointed office bearers formally took charge after taking the oath of office.

Justice K. S. P. Radhakrishnan, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, was the chief guest. In his address, he encouraged the young members to remain committed to values, service and social responsibility.

Fr. Manuel Gilton, Executive Director of Don Bosco Sneha Bhavan; Fr. John Muttathuparambil, Director of IYDC; Fr. Abhilash Palakkudiyil, DB for Migrants Province Coordinator; and Fr. Bino Nadackal, Director of DBYC, along with other Salesians, were present at the programme. They addressed the gathering and conveyed their greetings and encouragement to the newly elected office bearers and members.

The inmates added colour to the celebrations with a variety of cultural programmes, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm.

The joint celebration of Membership Day and World Migrants’ Day highlighted Don Bosco Youth Centre’s commitment to fostering fellowship, leadership, inclusion and solidarity among young people, particularly those from migrant and vulnerable communities.
