A day with menders: DB KGF celebrated Engineer’s day

Don Bosco ITI – KGF, held the combined celebration of Engineers’ Day and Teachers’ Day on 15 September 2023. As the nation celebrated Engineers Day to commemorate the birthday of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of the greatest engineers of our nation, the ITI profited by the occasion to couple it with Teachers’ Day celebration.

The felicitation programme started off at 11.30 am, during which homage was paid to the teaching and non-teaching staff for their commitment and dedication to their profession. The event also served to get to know better the person of M. Visvesvaraya and his unique contributions in the field of engineering. Dedication, consistency and creativity were the qualities that stood out in Sir M. Visvesvaraya affirmed Fr. Previnth, the Rector, in his inaugural message and adjured the staff to inculcate these qualities in the pupils.

The cultural programmes staged by the students of the formal and non-formal courses in tribute to their teachers, cheered the hearts of everyone with laughter and joy. After the programme a sumptuous meal awaited the staff and sweets were distributed to the students.

The afternoon was enlivened with matches between the staff and the students, both of the formal and the non-formal sections. The thoughtful and thorough planning by Fr. Dominic Savio, the Principal, made the day a colourful and memorable one for everyone.
