Annual School Debate – Battle of Wits
Don Bosco Central School, Angamaly witnessed a fiery debate on 3rd September, 2024 at the renovated Junior School auditorium. The contestants of the debate were Blue & Green Houses verses Red & Yellow Houses. The topic of the debate was – The effect of social media on democracy.
Blue & Green Houses argued for the motion and Red & Yellow Houses against the motion. The audience enjoyed the debate. They asked very challenging questions to the teams. The adversaries too asked tricky questions to each other which could blow up anybody’s cognitive domain. This tug of war with Words continued for one and a half hours with the audience cheering for their teams.
The contestants were Devanampriya Priyadarshi, Elga Martin, Kevin Benny, Nivya Jiji were the Participants for the motion. The challenger team were Jianna Jeejo, Athenna Sarah Laiju, Diya Saji and Alita Grace. The best speaker awards went to Devanampriya Priyadarshi and Jianna Jeejo
Mrs. Simi K George was the Moderator of the Debate. The judges for the day were Fr. Jose AlunKal, the Dean of the Don Bosco Seminary Aluva, teachers Mini K.L, Jolly Joseph, and Anjana Sreelesh. Fr. Jose congratulated the entire team and gave valuable tips to become good debaters. The day closed with an inspiration for students to participate in the debate.
