BLESSING OF THE RENOVATED DON BOSCO JUNIOR SCHOOL AND THE INAUGURATION OF DON BOSCO MUSIC ACADEMY
5th of June, 2024 remains a special day in the chronicles of Don Bosco Angamaly with the twin celebrations of the Blessing of the Renovated Don Bosco Junior School and the Inauguration of the Don Bosco Music Academy.
The Renovated School building was blessed by Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal SDB, the Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province of Bangalore at 10.00 am in the presence of the Confreres, Teachers, Students, Parents, Salesian Co-operators and ADMA Members. Fr. Provincial appreciated the commitment of the Salesian Community for the development of the School as well as thanked all those who were instrumental in the completion of the work.
The D-day turned into a golden memory as the Chief Guest, Mr. Jerry Amaldev, the veteran music director and composer inaugurated the Don Bosco Music Academy. The lively interaction of the Chief Guest of the day, made the students realize the minute nuances of composing music which will later on become a popular number. Our students had wonderful, once in a life time opportunity to learn from the legend himself. And he reminded the students that this is a rare opportunity that is given to them to learn music along with their studies.
Fr. Jose Koyickal, the Provincial, in his presidential address, acknowledged the colossal ordeal behind the great venture of setting up the Music Academy and the renovation of the building. The Rector, Fr. Joseph Elavanal SDB, welcomed the dignitaries on the stage. The function was graced by the presence of Fr. Prince Puthanangady, the Vice Rector, Fr. James Puthenparambil, the Principal of the School, Fr. Jilson Erikattu, the Vice principal and Administrator and Mr. Sejo John, the music director under whose guidance the training of the students will take place.
All the people who were responsible for the completion of the building were thanked and honoured in the function with a memento. There were many Salesians present on the occasion.
Mr. Sejo John & Team came up with a live performance which made the students enjoy the music and they went home with the hope of performing like them in the future.
The day came to a close by organizing a festive dinner for all the workers who had helped in the renovation of the Junior School.
