Brazil – Great expectations for Rector Major’s Visit to “St. John Bosco” Province of Belo Horizonte
(ANS – Belo Horizonte) – The Salesian Province “St. John Bosco” of Belo Horizonte awaits the arrival of the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, with joy and enthusiasm. He shall be in Brazil from August 25 to 29 for a new Animation Visit.
Fr. Á.F. Artime reaches Brazil next August 25, landing at the Brasilia airport, where the Provincial of Brazil-Belo Horizonte, Fr. Natale Vitali, shall be awaiting him. The first official appointment is that same afternoon, on August 25, when the Successor of Don Bosco celebrates the Eucharist for the closing of the 22nd Provincial Chapter. He will preside at the Holy Mass at the Don Bosco Shrine in Brasilia for the celebration of the Province’s 75th anniversary; he will deliver the new Cross to the Salesians of Don Bosco on the occasion.
August 26 will be dedicated to the provincial celebration. During the morning, Fr. Á.F. Artime will meet the Salesians at Hotel Laguna for a time of dialogue and sharing. The events will then continue in the evening with a Eucharistic celebration attended by the Salesian Family of BBH and the Rector Major blessing the new monument dedicated to Don Bosco. The day will end with a moment of conviviality, with dinner together with the Rector Major.
Many events are also on the calendar for Saturday, August 27. At 10:30 a.m., Fr. Á.F. Artime meets young people at the theater of the Salesian school in Belo Horizonte for talks and sharing. Then, in the early afternoon hours, the television program “Além da Notícia” of the Canção Nova Catholic network will be recorded inside the Don Bosco Shrine. In the evening, starting at 6 p.m., the Rector Major will receive the Perpetual Profession of the young Salesian San Raymmon and bless the statues of Mother Mazzarello and St. Dominic Savio in the Shrine. The evening will then be dedicated again to the young people, attending the Rector Major’s “goodnight”, also at the Don Bosco Shrine.
The Eucharistic Celebration at the Don Bosco Chapel on he following day, the last before departure. The Visit concludes on the morning of Monday, August 29, with a farewell at the airport by Fr. Vitali.
An intense program, allowing the Rector Major to make his closeness and presence felt to the Salesians and Salesian Family of this Province, which celebrates the important milestone of 75 years of existence this year.
