DBHEI Annual Conference 2023: Nurturing Values, Entrepreneurship, and Social Responsibility

The Don Bosco Higher Education India (DBHEI) Annual Conference and General Body Meeting was held at NBCLC Bangalore from November 10-12, 2023. The conference was attended by 59 Salesians, including the president, Rev. Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, and the vice president, Rev. Dr. P.D. Johny. The participants included Directors, Rectors, Principals, and Vice-principals from DBHEI institutions across India.
Day one began with a Mass led by Archbishop Peter Machado and featured an inaugural session emphasizing DBHEI values and fostering entrepreneurship, by Rev. Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, the president of DBHEI, and a session on “Fostering Entrepreneurship and Startup Culture on Campuses” by Mr. Thejus Joseph,Interim CEO of FiiRE, Goa, encouraging talent identification and nurturing.
On the second day of the DBHEI Annual Conference, attendees began with a Mass led by the Provincial, Rev. Fr. Jose Koyikal. The day featured a guided campus tour of Christ Deemed University, interactive sessions with university officials, and a session on “Educating Our Young to Social Responsibility” with Dr. Anil Joseph Pinto, Registrar of Christ University.
On the final day of the DBHEI Annual Conference, Rev. Fr. Januarius S. Sangma presided over the Mass. The general body meeting discussed key topics, including the New Education Policy, short-term and long-term action plans, and approved action plans to foster entrepreneurship and social responsibility in DBHEI institutions, concluding at 12.30 pm with a hymn to Don Bosco.
